| International Relief Teams (IRT) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing critical assistance to victims of disaster, poverty, and neglect worldwide. Founded in 1988, IRT specializes in medical training and education, surgical outreach, public health and disaster relief. IRT has a unique approach to the delivery of humanitarian aid: nearly all program activities are performed by teams of specialists who volunteer their time. We serve as a conduit, linking people in desperate need with specialists who have the skills to meet those needs. In the past year, IRT deployed 79 teams, involving 250 medical and construction specialists, and provided $13.7 million dollars in medicines, supplies, and volunteer services to thousands in need in the United States and abroad.
