| Good Shepherd Montessori School is a faith-based elementary school founded on the belief that a peaceful and just world begins with the education of our children. Our curriculum and learning environment are formed according to the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori, which fosters in the child an awareness of the global community as well as each child's unique place in and responsibility to serve the world. We believe that spiritual formation is inseparable from intellectual formation and develop this aspect of the child through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based approach to religious education. Environmental awareness is built in our students through a weekly farm-school component where children learn concretely to be stewards of the earth. Good Shepherd Montessori's commitment to a diverse student body is reflected in its mission to have 30% of the student body from homes at or below the poverty line and the provision of needs-based minority scholarships. We believe we can build a peaceful world, one child at a time.
